Vakil Eelman (1947) lives in Alkmaar and besides she is a yoga teacher, she works as a model.
Pink & Red
The first time I met her Vakil told me about her start as a model. That happened around her 50th and she is still frequently asked for very different tasks. I photographed her this time for Zin magazine. Every month I’m photographing an outspoken woman or manfor this magazine. Vakil has assembled a stunning outfit for this occasion in various shades of pink combined with red.
Mix & Match
Vakil: “This coat is from India and I bought it in the shop of Dani in Alkmaar. Just like this petticoat. Underneath I’m wearing a swimsuit by Marlies Dekkers. I bought it at a flea market for only 5 euros! This shoe by ‘Sixty Seven made in Bohemia’. I bought them long ago in Deventer. The diadem in my hair, I bought at Mevrouw Jansen, a second hand shop in Alkmaar.

This is the page in Zin magazine. In the little interview, Vakil tells about her third child. Immediately after birth, it was clear that this daughter had Down syndrome. The love for her was and is no less! She is a great gift!
