4 women, 4 blogs, 4 different styles and all from Haarlem
Haarlem is not a big city, so I think it is quite special that this city counts 4, slightly older women, having their own blog. We are Anja, Sylvia, Greetje, and Misja. We have found each other through social media such as Facebook and Instagram. We do not see each other often, because both Sylvia and Anja (the two ladies right on the photo above) live in Singapore for a large part of the year. In the meantime, Greetje (with skirt) and I keep an eye on things in Haarlem. In the summer we usually succeed in meeting and talking together extensively several times.
Anja – Curly Traveller
Anja is the only one who doesn’t have a blog about fashion or style, but about traveling. She has seen a lot of Asia together with her partner. Traveling in combination with her lovely curls yielded the name Curly Traveller. On the blog, she talks about their travels through countries such as Vietnam, Japan, and Korea. With lots of photos of beautiful places, but also about special food and, for example, the ‘street art’ they spot along the way. When she is in The Netherlands, she also writes about (new) museums like recently the Voorlinden museum. Anja’s clothing style can best be described as ‘boho’ or ‘Ibiza’. She likes colorful clothing and loves to buy a lot instead of expensive. She loves to mix and match as you can see in this picture. Anja seems a somewhat thoughtful person in this photo but don’t be mistaken. She is a professional tango dancer.

Sylvia – 40Plusstyle
Sylvia lives and works in Singapore for the most part of the year. She developed a successful website called 40Plusstyle. This site helps women to develop or adapt their own style after their 40th. Through this site, Sylvia gives styling advice and offers workshops and courses. She reaches many women around the world. At the same time, she connects these women by giving them a platform on Facebook where they can share their style. Because she herself experienced how to become a successful entrepreneur, she recently created a new site: 40+ Entrepreneur. A site for 40+ women who have plans to start a business themselves.

Greetje – No Fear of Fashion
She has chosen the name for her blog very well. Greetje is absolutely not afraid of fashion, she likes to buy and likes to buy very often. She shares her purchases every week with her many (foreign) followers at No Fear of Fashion. She does not hesitate to make fun of herself if she has a bad bargain or to show a somewhat failed picture of herself. She often asks her followers for advice on a new purchase or a response if she has come up with a new combination from her extensive wardrobe. Her style is hard to describe, she likes a bit of chic but also casual. Anyway, she is the most ‘lady-like’ of the four of us. On the photos taken on this day, you’ll see that she’s wearing sneakers and pumps. That is the real Greetje mix. In this photo above the sun shines on her skirt, I think it is a very appropriate image for Greetje. She’s always looking for the sunny side of life!

Haarlem
We’re following each other, of course, throughout the year, also via social media. But the nicest and most inspiring thing is to meet each other in Haarlem. To exchange ideas, plans, advice, and tips. For me, it is also great to be able to take pictures. This day for the first time the four of us all together. With the help of the self-timer, so every now and then I had to make a dash for it. But I didn’t care, because taking these kinds of pictures I like the most!
Photoshoot
Would you like to have a nice series of ‘street style’ photos for your blog/website or for your Instagram account? I’d like to make them for you! Besides being a good photographer, I also have a trained eye for styling and (clothing) details during the shoot. My hourly rate is € 90, – (including VAT). If you want photos of different outfits, we can do a lot in two hours! Think of three or four different sets, maybe even five. With different backgrounds. You also get portrait photos and many pictures of (stylish) details.
A series of photos together with your girlfriend(s), mother, father, partner, child/grandchild is also possible of course. In that case, we need less time and one hour will be enough. Are you interested? I like to hear it and you can reach me via misjabeijers@gmail.com

Hi Misja. What a nice blogpost this is. I follow Greetje and via her site came to yours. You are very right in describing her, so I assume you are equally right about the other ladies of the Haarlem bloggers. I think it’s a marvellous thing to be able to meet each other several times during the summer months. Distance does not matter in friendships, but nothing beats meeting each other in real life (I live abroad too, so I know what I am talking about!). I will be back for another visit for sure! CU. Love, Lieske
Thank you for visiting my blog Lieske. I’m very glad being part of THB (The Haarlem Bloggers, Greetje came up with the name). I’m following you on IG, now I’ve read your blog as well. Nice to know you’re Dutch as well. Whenever you’re in Holland, it would be nice to meet. Maybe together with Greetje and if possible with the other THB-girls.
Wow!! What a great story! I will be so lucky to be in the same area as all of these beautiful women!! I’m a historian & I love to go to places I have studied; I’m really looking forward to treading in Anne Franke’s footsteps from Amsterdam to Amersfort. It’s going to be a wonderful holiday & show off this American’s style!! I’m loving exploring your blog!
Thank you Eva for visiting my blog! How nice you’re planning a trip to Holland, there are so many wonderful cities: Amsterdam and Amersfoort of course, but also The Hague for example. Anyway, I wish you a very pleasant time in Holland!
Hello Misja, what a great article you wrote about that meet-up. Nice pics. Hope you get many assignments!
Thank you so much Anja, that would be nice. Looking forward to our meet-up in December… Have a nice time in Singapore.
