Fashion and passion
During the last Designer Vintage Sale at the Amstel Hotel, I saw Today’s Vintage for the first time. Only a small part of the stock appeared to be hanging in their booth, but my curiosity was awakened. The store is in Hoofddorp, for me just about ‘around the corner’. It is not a building in the middle of the village but in the business park. Today’s Vintage is run by Anouk Haspels and Gaby Langeveld. Anouk: “I have been working in fashion for more than 31 years, in various fields: in shops, in a wholesaler, as a stylist and I have had my own agency. Fashion always has been my passion and I still follow everything in the field of trends, couture, and vintage.”

“When this space in my husband’s company was released, I took the opportunity to start this store. Clothing, especially of more expensive brands, deserves a second chance. Because beautiful fabrics have been used, the lines are good and they have a good fit. It came out very well that girlfriend Gaby wanted to work again in addition to taking care of her family. Now, we run Today’s Vintage together for three days a week.”
Vintage, second hand and new in Hoofddorp
Anouk shows a number of the garments in store. From brands like Sofie d’Hoore, Carven, Balenciaga, Missoni and Céline. But you can also find the nicer pieces of slightly less expensive brands here. Sometimes even clothing that has not been worn before. Through her years of experience and enthusiasm for the profession, she can tell something about the designer or the fabric that is used. And because she is also a stylist she also knows very well whether a model fits you or not. Or she comes with a very different suggestion or a way to combine it with accessories or shoes. Anouk: “We can also make an appointment to get to people’s homes, we can see which combinations can be made with new items and the existing wardrobe. Or you can sell clothes that you no longer wear.”
Accessories
The offer is, as in every second-hand store, always a surprise. That is what makes such a treasure room so interesting. At the moment I am in I see a lot of beautiful bags, including Chanel and Michael Kors. And many shoes, sneakers and loafers as well as elegant pumps. Including a few very colorful Dolce & Gabbana’s, in the original, colorful package. On the table a bowl full of summer (toe) slippers. For lovers there is a box full of beautiful jewelry: (striking) necklaces and bracelets, with which you can finish an outfit right away. And a wide choice in shawls.
Rental
There is also a rack with evening clothes, some are for rent.
Outside the entrance is a rack of t-shirts, for sale for a very attractive price. In short, an address that is well worth to pay a visit to.

Opening hours: from Wednesday to Friday from 10 am to 5.30 pm (except during the school holidays) and by appointment. In addition, Anouk and Gaby occasionally organize shopping evenings. So keep an eye on their Instagram account.
