Always black
Alies Strampel (1966) lives in Heerenveen, but is regularly in Haarlem. Her daughter Robin recently opened her own store – Paragons – in this city. A store with second-hand designer clothing for women and men. Alies really enjoys helping occasionally at the weekends because she owned a similar store on Texel for a long time. Alies: “I have always liked black clothes. The bag and the lining are the only color accents today.”

“During the weekends I often work for Robin and of course I also have the opportunity to see if there is anything left for me. Eventually, I would like to work full time for her. But now I still work at a school for special education. I get a lot of satisfaction from working with these young people. I love to persuade them, to let them experience how nice it is to learn a trade. They start around the age of 12 and start an internship over time. If afterward, they succeed in finding a good job, I am just as proud of them as I am of my own daughter.”
Casual chic
“I would describe my style as casual chic. I like a nice finish and beautiful materials. I have a few favorite designers, such as Gucci, although those designs do not fit well with my body. In addition, Dries van Noten and Missoni. But I always choose everything in black, I don’t recognize myself in a different color.”
