Mevrouw Jansen, (Madam Jansen) is a vintage shop in Alkmaar. Last week Mevrouw Jansen organized for her customers her annual fashion show. The show was run by mannequins of different ages and with different sizes. Her mother was one of the models, the lady with hat in this picture. It appears people are more and more interested in vintage clothing. For this show at least, all places were filled.
Vintage is hot
In every city and even village, you can find vintage stores. No wonder, it is so nice to buy a beautiful designer coat, dress or skirt of good quality, for a nice price. Otherwise, one even couldn’t afford such designer clothes. For women who can, it is wonderful to clean up their closet and get money by selling some pieces.
Yvonne Weisfelt (1940) with a striking, charming hair bun. She wears Trippen shoes. Yvonne: “For these shoes, I went specifically to the Trippen shop in Antwerp. I have no regrets, they run great even for someone like me, with rheumatism. I often buy vintage clothing except for shoes.”
Almost exclusively vintage
Monique Hupkes (1965), also wears striking shoes. “Almost everything I buy is vintage and occasionally something on sale. Partly out of conviction, but I’m also always looking for something special. In most stores, you find the same dress in four different sizes. I don’t like that. I have four children, two boys and two girls. They also buy often second-hand clothes. If I’m in another city, even abroad, I’m always looking for beautiful vintage stores. It’s easy to find the best addresses on internet. Shoes:. by ViaVai, also purchased at Madam Jansen.
